Young Talents: The Upcoming, The Promising and The Rising Ones!

It's been a year since I wrote my last blog. Too busy schedule. Working almost 12 hours a day. Sleep for only 3-4 hours and get myself ready for work again. Anyway, I got the chance to sit down on my PC again and continue writing on my blogs as long as I have the time.

So what am I going to write on my blog now? It's about Young talents I read at newspapers, I saw on television, and some interesting links on my Facebook account. Listed below are those that I see who are trending and becoming more and more popular nowadays. Read on and find out...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JuliElmo

This love team, composed of Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona, which is brought up by Party Pilipinas made these both personalities more popular than ever especially to teens their age. Julie Anne's popularity started with Sugarpop, then after hitting million views on all the videos (cover) she did at YouTube, and lastly with her performances at Party Pilipinas. Elmo, on the other hand, is already known because of his family roots. His grandparents are both actors. His dad, the late King of Rap Francis M, is the Master Rapper of all time (starting Dekada Nubenta). Even Elmo's other siblings are also into showbiz namely Maxene, Saab, and Frank. His younger brother Arkin is also hitting the stage and doing rap acts (latest is when he rapped during Leana Tabuñar's Debut at Party Pilipinas).

JuliElmo is getting more and more popular. I've watched the short film "Red Mask" and the Musical "Wazak Love Story" which are both produced by Party Pilipinas and I can see, even though I'm already out of my teens, that Julie Anne and Elmo really look great together. They have that natural Charisma which makes them picture perfect as a couple. They are young, yes! But that's where everything starts like any other couple in showbiz. I hope that in the future they star in a lead role in a movie. For Julie Anne, Upcoming albums and so is with Elmo. He can Rap, and he does Rap greatly.

Julie Anne can rap. And she too does the rap thing so awesome. But what I really love about her is her renditions on the Beatles songs. I love the Beatles. I'm an old school classic music lover and she did a fantastic job singing those songs. And that's 2 thumbs up from me and a shouting "Rak En Rol" and behind me are millions of claps from those who believes in you. Lastly, Julie Anne is composed of natural beauty and a powerful voice.

More power to them and more success in the coming years.

YOUTUBE SENSATIONS

Aside from Julie Anne San Jose, there are other Filipinos who are getting the attention of most of the viewers at YouTube. Not only by fellow Filipinos but also from foreign countries.

Charice Pempengco rose to fame after being invited by Ellen Degeneres at the Ellen Degeneres show in the US. Charice's singing talent, after the Ellen show, made her way to hollywood. Currently, she is part of the TV show GLEE.

Younger talents include Maria Aragon, a 10 year old Canadian national born from Filipino parents. After posting a video of her singing "Born this Way" which is popularly sang by Lady Gaga, many viewed the said video, including Lady Gaga herself. A Tweet from Gaga to all her followers at Twitter made Maria an instant star. Gaga personally invited Maria to perform at her concert through a phone patch on a Radio Station in Canada.

Arjohn Gilbert, the singing aeta from Clark, Pampanga also was noticed because of his videos wherein he sang Justin Beibers "Baby", "Just the way you are" and others. Just lately he was invited at Gandang Gabi Vice wherein he showcased his singing talent.

lastly, is 8 year old Leana Tabuñar. A cute little girl who got noticed because of her video singing "Pricetag". She sang the song so clear. All the words pronounced clearly and the voice is quality. She can even do the rap part of the song and I can say she did great at it. Because of her talent, she is now part of Party Pilipinas where she debuted last August 21. She sang the song "Pricetag" along with Arkin Magalona, who performed the Rap portion of the song.

TWEEN ACADEMY of 2012

The show Tween Hearts, top-billed by the love teams of Joshua Dionisio - Barbie Forteza and Jake Vargas - Bea Binene, together with Joyce Ching and Kristofer Martin, Lexi Fernandez and Derick Monasterio, Louise delos Reyes and Alden Richards, Elmo Magalona is the basis of the film. The film is set to be released on August 24, 2011.

Did I mention August 24? That is today! And I hope that from their first film are more films to come. Like the casts of TGIS who went popular on the said show 13 or 14 years ago, they went from one film to another film and eventually more projects. That I wish would be for the cast of Tween Hearts. Not only them, but to all the young talents which are discovered and will be discovered in the future.

Renz Ruther Robosa - The OPM Heartthrob

And the winner of Diz Iz It Kantahan Challenge...

*Drums Roll*

RUTHER ROBOSA!

Then tears rolled down on his face. Tears of Joy and Happiness. Tears of relief from the nervous and trembling feeling while waiting for the winner to be announced. That was the most happiest moment of this young man's life. Winning the Grand Prize against his 7 other competitors during the finals week and beating the other 3 grand finalists during the Final Battle.

So who is Ruther Robosa? An 18 year old singing sensation from San Carlos, Pangasinan who, according to Shivaker during the finals, was helping in the family business by selling hand made bracelets.

According to Ruther, his final song "Ikaw ang aking Pangarap", which was composed by Mr. Ogie Alcasid, was the first song he sang when he hit the stage for the first time in his life. And this song became an inspirational song for him. His performance during the Grand Finals was so amazing that the crowd, and even the judges, cried not because the song but how Ruther delivered and how the message of the song touched the hearts of everybody watching his performance (and I am sure that people watching at their homes are pulling sheets of tissue paper to dry their teary eyes). Such great masculine voice he had. A Winner! Congratulations!

The videos below is Ruther's Grand Finals performance, the Judge's comments and the Announcement of his name as Grand Champion. Watch and Enjoy!

Eliza Marie Arnaiz - The Sweet Siren

Eliza Arnaiz - Diz Iz Ur Moment!

Every time I hear Bayani and Ehra speak those words at Diz Iz It, I immediately turn up the volume of my TV. It was when she sang the song "Shine" that I saw that this lady will have a future on the Music Industry. Her version of "Sana Maulit Muli" during the OPM theme was so outstanding. She is very relaxed when she is singing. High notes, low notes, It was not hard for her to pick those notes. She may not be the top performer during the finals week but as per comments from Judges on the show - Her performance is so professional - not only during the finals but every time she hits the stage.

And last but not the least, Not only is she great in singing but also on looks. She's so pretty especially when she flashes that sweet smile. She isn't called the Sweet Siren for nothing. A Total Package indeed - Good Looks and Great Voice!

Below are the videos of her performances at Diz Iz It!

So? What is this blog all about?

First of all, this blog is not new to me. (And to the people who have followed my blogs way back 2004 when I first featured people I see - either on competitions on TV, or doing front covers on concerts, or performing locally on local bars - who have those talent that should be heard nationwide - and even internationally.)

On the original blog, I first featured talents that I saw on TV - usually those who are joining various competitions (I was on my senior year at STI - Baguio then. Sa computer room pa ako gumagawa noon - libre eh!). Matunog na yung Starstruck noon - the artista search competition where a hundred people was trimmed down until the final 14 was selected and then every week, one of them have to bid goodbye to the show. That was where I featured Jennylyn Mercado. She wasn't that good in acting before but her talent in singing was awesome. She outlasted the 13 finalists when it comes to singing. Then came Starstruck Kids wherein I have featured Bea Binene. She didn't win as the ultimate survivor but looking up to the present, she is again watched on TV while the others are missing.

Anyway, that was just a preview of my old blog. This blog entitled "D' Road to Fame" is the same as the old one but with new faces, new beginnings, new talents. I have been watching Diz Iz It (A pre-noontime variety show at GMA) ever since it started (only there are months that I can't watch episodes of the show most especially when I am on morning shift at work which is 7am to 3pm and on graveyard shift from 11pm to 7am) and too good that I have reached episodes before the Diz Iz It Battle of Champions. I've watched the 8 finalists perform and it came to my mind to revive this blog especially when Shivaker mentioned that everyday the finalists will sing different themes. This will show the versatility of the finalists. It was after the finals then that I decided to push through with this blog (again). I will be updating this blog until the time comes that the people I will be featuring here would someday be on my Mp3 playlist and their performances on my DVD collections.
